The Weigh-In Week 88

228.8! That's what it said on the scale this morning. A gain of 2 pounds.

Nothing to do but start fresh today and look at the bright side.

What bright side you ask?

Despite the weight gain, I really did have a good week this week. Starting with a great day of skiing with the girls last Sunday. I also got a ton of stuff done around the house this week and made some huge strides in the gym...pun intended.

I feel like my running is finally back to a good place. I did a four mile run yesterday at 38 minutes and then tacked on another .98ths of a mile between a combo of walking and running. That is the most miles I have put up since my 10K last October.

I've also started a new workout routine using a new site called FitClick. It's nothing revolutionary, just a way to change things up on a regular basis instead of doing the same exercises over and over. So far I'm really happy with the way it's going.

So while I am disappointed with the gain, I very happy with my life in general.

And these days that seems like a pretty bright bright side to me.

Have a great weekend everybody. St. Patty's day race results will be up on Tuesday. I'm at an all day thing on Monday and probably won't have access to the blog before then.

Guess How Much I Weigh Contest- Week 88

Not a Good week this week. I'm not sure what happened. I just gave in to every food crave I had all week long. Which is kind of a bummer because other then food, this was a great week.

The good news is, despite turning into a snack attack monster this week I hit the gym hardcore. I had a great run on Tuesday which has given me more confidence for my 5K race on Saturday.

Saturday's St. Patty's day race is kind of like the one year anniversary of my running. It was the first 5K every did and amazingly one of the fastest. I have no illusions about beating last years time of 26:50. I've been slowing down all winter. I'm think I'll probably finish somewhere around 27:30 or 28 minutes. It's the first race of the season though, so I'm not to worried about the time. It's just something fun to do with my dad at this point.

I'm hope the hard work in the gym will off set a little of my dietary indiscretion and keep this weeks gain under 2 pounds.

Step right up, step right up.
Guess how much I weigh and win a fabulous prize.

To Recap:
Every Thursday I give you my stats for the week and you guess what you think the scale will say on Friday morning. The winner is the first person who guesses my weight / weight loss for the week without going over or the person who is closest without going over. Go ahead and click on comments at the bottom of this post and leave your guess.

I will post the winner when I post my weight on Fri. morning. If we get ten or more guesses I will have a prize for the winner.

Let the guessing begin. Good Luck!

Little Ski Bunnies

Ever since we first found out Laura was pregnant, one of my fatherhood dreams has been getting my kids out on the slopes...and having them fall in love with skiing.

I am proud to say that both things happened yesterday.

We hit the slopes a little after ten and didn't leave the ski hill until 2 (with a long, long break for lunch) and the girls were begging to keep going when we told them it was time to leave. We had so much fun. This is one of my all time favorite father moments so far.

And this may just be a proud daddy talking but I think my girls are naturals.

I know there is not much winter left but I'm really, tempted to take an afternoon off and hit the slopes one more time before the snow melts.

Here's some video. The order is Ellie, Maggie, Ellie, Ellie and then Maggie bombing the hill.

The snowboarder that Ellie and I run into in the first clip was very nice and understanding.

Hope you all had as much fun as we did this weekend.
